Wind Works is a Career Awareness campaign of the National Offshore Wind Institute at Bristol Community College. We share resources in the Industrial Trades sectors, including offshore and onshore wind, maritime, and health and safety.
The Port of New Bedford was the home of construction and deployment to Vineyard Wind 1, the nation’s first commercial scale offshore wind farm. With 62 turbines in the ocean off Nantucket Island, the project employed over 3700 individuals, union and non-union jobs. The project is in its Operations and Maintenance (O&M) phase with an anticipated 80-100 jobs created annually. For more information, view the full report below.
